M&N Screen Printing is now the proud ownerof a sublimation printer that enables us to produce stand-out prints, 3D objects and tees. We are very excited about the quality of prints that are now possible with this new technology. With dye sublimation, gaseous dyes are impregnated right into the printed materials. So the process yields a distinctly new look. Sublimation can be used for printing on virtually any porous surfaces from fabrics and clothing to ceramics as well as paper signs and posters. We can print more than 300 different items. Like screen printing, sublimation can yield the full spectrum of 16M colors in a four-color process. Our corporate clients will be pleased to know that sublimation requires no drying time -- important for those rapid turnaround jobs for trade shows and meetings that need to be delivered ASAP. Unlike in screen printing, dye-sublimation prints are ready to handle as soon as they come out of the printer.
How Dye-Sublimation Works
The dye-sublimation process uses lightweight dyes instead of heavy inks and is absorbed into the fabric or material rather than printed. The image is first printed on a special paper and then transferred into a gas state directly onto the fabric.
Note:
Sublimation works best on lighter color materials. It is not suited for 100% cotton or cotton/polyester blends.
